That aging will be out of the question once you get to hold of this magic potion. And no, I am not about to go and narrate a fictional tale about it. And no, I am not selling one nor do I have any idea as to where it can be attained. Instead, I am going to tell you a secret. The closest you will ever get to the elusive magic potion. For what I am about to tell you is a true story. Based on real life events. Not some hokus-pokus bogus whispered in hushed tones during camp fires and what not. What I am about to tell you is about a wonderful discovery by a man some 5000 years ago, in the Ancient civilization of China. Green Tea.

What is green tea? What does it look like?

Green tea comes from leaves of a tea plant named Camellia sinensis. Of course its color is green. What makes it green and stand out from other kinds of teas is not the plant itself, for all kinds of teas come from the very same plant. It is in the processing of these leaves that spell out the difference.

How is it prepared?

Many green tea enthusiasts say that the best way to prepare green tea is by brewing it for less than a minute with hot water. Make sure the hot water has not yet reached its boiling point yet. Make sure it is also stipped for a short while, for about two to five minutes. This gives out a bitter flavor to the tea. And this is the secret of green teas. Polyphenols. These are anti-oxidants that are the main precursors of giving most of the health benefits we can enjoy in green teas.

What makes green tea special?

Nothing really. Green tea is as natural as it can get. Heated and extracted to perfection. What makes green tea special, however, is how much nutrients it can offer and can give without worrying about major side effects normally found in other drinks and other artificial supplements. Here are its main ingredients: tannins, caffeine and catechins. Other things include: essential oils, fats. It also includes Vitamins like A, B1, B12 and C. And minerals such as calcium, copper, fluoride, iron, nickel, magnesium and also zinc. The list goes on for about 300 more. Imagine how much a cup of green tea contains! It can truly be considered as a miraculous, "magic potion."

But why drink and risk it?

Its simple actually. If you tried it, I am sure you know what I am talking about. If you have not then let me tell you this. Because it is good for you. For you to try it, you have nothing to lose. You will instead have everything to gain, well, that is health-wise.It is like you planted just a mere seed in order to preserve, maintain and improve your health and all you have to do is just spend a little and make room for an additional drink in your meals. The fruit of your labor would be that you will stay healthy, feel relaxed, refreshed and youthful. This is all thanks to catechins fighting off free radicals and unwanted agents in the body. Say goodbye to feeling old, wrinkly and stressed-out. You avoid certain unwanted diseases such as cardiovascular problems such as: Atheroscelorosis, Thrombosis, blood clots and strokes to name a few. You can also avoid certain cancers such as: lung cancer, breast cancer, stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer, colon and colorectal cancer, and prostate cancer even. It also boosts your memory. You can also other ailments such as colitis, inflammatory problems such as arthritis and liver disease. It also reduces risk of high blood pressure and diabetes. You will also feel lighter, for you will feel the weight loss. For it also has fat burning properties that helps burn down body fat. If this is not enough to convince you, it also has the power to prevent tooth decay and bad breath. This and more is how magical green tea is.

Nutrient giver, healthy effective, and life prolonger rolled into one.

And before I forget, it just tastes delightful. Green tea is anything but ordinary. It does not taste the same as regular teas. Expect to have different flavors as the kinds of green tea vary. But all who had tried agree that they have a common description for it: its fresh. Light and tastes "grassy". Some even have a sweetness-like taste and some would even say a little astringent. If this bit bothers you, do not fret. Green tea can taste great. If at first you do not like it, try it again. People say it is an acquired taste, getting better and better each time.

How much of green tea should be drank?

According to various population studies documenting the health benefits of drinking green tea which was done in Asia, an average of 3 cups of green tea a day is found out. The United Kingdom Tea Council said that green tea drinking should not exceed 6 cups a day. Why? Because drinking large doses of green tea can possibly lead to caffeine intolerance and minerals overdose as well. Therefore, just like everything else, it should be drunk in moderation.

In a nutshell:

Green tea is not a magic potion. But if you base such assumption with the nutrients and healthful effects it has and can give the human body and how much it contributes to a person's health, vitality and total wellness, then it is safe to assume that it comes close to it being one. This is what makes green tea special from other artificial, carbonated drinks found in the market today. It is safe to drink because it is natural and it does not pose harmful threats to a person. And what is great about it, is it tastes wonderful. At it will only cost less than what other supplements and artificial vitamins can offer you. So tell me, what's the use of a magic potion if you can have green tea instead?
