First of all, what is tea? Tea is a product of a plant with a fine name Camellia sinensis (you sure already know this from our previous articles). It's a brew of a plant that can be a beverage - a sort of refreshment; that which can quench thirst. But it's not all that. A drink can be enjoyable. Tea, for one, gives you this distinct pleasure. It has this inviting aroma. The smell humbly reaches to you. It also has a rich taste. You can have it in hot, cold or something in between that can give one delight that ranges from a simple satisfied "huh" that agrees… to a more impressed "whoa" that wants more. There's even the iced tea, in fact, most excellent on the warmest temperatures. Best of all, it can be had at practically any time of the day. Your choice.
Tea has a variety. Most chosen in the market are these: the Black Tea, Oolong Tea, White Tea, and the ever popular Green Tea. The Black Tea is more oxidized than the oolong, green, and white. It is generally stronger in flavor and contains more caffeine than the less oxidized teas. It's also called "Red Tea" in other countries. The Oolong Tea, also called the "Black Dragon Tea", is a traditional Chinese Tea. It contains less caffeine than either the Black or Green Tea. Its taste is of a unique variety which maybe sweet, woody or just fresh. The White Tea is a different kind of tea in the sense of how it is made, that its leaves and sprouts are allowed to shrivel underneath the sun before they are gently handled to prevent oxidation or concoction. They have compounds that have been shown to protect against certain types of cancer. Then, there's the Green Tea. It has the least oxidation during processing. This has been shown to bring about heat production and stimulate fat oxidation, increasing metabolism without increasing the heart rate. It does well for your blood pressure, body fat and figure. It has the answer.
It's good. It's good for you. It's for you.
Tea has its benefits. One most notable is that it has antioxidants. These antioxidants are elements that may protect your cells from organic molecules responsible for aging, tissue damage, and possibly some diseases. It has been found out that it can normalize blood pressure, can control fat, and prevent coronary heart diseases and diabetes by reducing the blood-glucose activity. Also, to add, tea has these anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic and anti-tumoric properties. Yes, it is one of the best choice in diet. This is why people choose tea.

Aside from the serious and helpful truths about tea, a fun fact to know is that tea has its story to tell - a history. It dates back to a very long time ago, even in the B.C. period. Asian countries like China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Vietnam were the first to utilize nature's gift. Later, the good news is spread to the rest of the world: Greece and Cyprus, India, Iran, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Sri Lanka, Africa, South America and Europe. Tea covers a lot of things, to be exact, related to medicine, culture and religion. Due to its medicinal properties China and India has been using tea for a really long time, as a stimulant, tonic or even antidote. They have utilized its usefulness. It is said that, once, tea is served in the religious classes in Japan, had by priests. A philosopher, Laozi, even proposed that it is a key component for the elixir of life. Korea has a history of offering tea to their deity. That's how some people much believe in the power of tea. For its tas
te, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and Turkey are some of the countries who have come to appreciate it, by making milk and sweet tea. The United Kingdom has even the habit of drinking it. It's an herb that is simply superb. World class.
To drink tea is a privilege. Due to the many choices there is and personal differences it is most difficult to suggest the one best had. But it is best had than not at all. Pick any kind. Realize the greatness that awaits you. With different teas come different colors. With different colors come different tastes. It's peculiarly interesting how tea is served. It can be by a tea bag, teapot, glass or something far more different. Some even come in plastic bottles, stored in the fridge. That is how complex tea can get, but it is simply there to serve you.
However tea might be served for you, it's best to savor every bit of it. Make the most of it, that is. It is a fulfilling experience to begin with. Aroma and aftertaste are just as important as its flavor. Smelling the leaves can be a start. It will add to your tasting experience. Now, to taste the tea, itself, takes a bit of creativity. It can be a sip. It can be a gulp. Either way, you'd get the taste. But, to appreciate it more, it's a matter of how it goes in. The slower you take it in, the more you would realize how it is. Your nose, palate, and tongue will help you out. When you drink it, try to take in a fair amount of air and take a whiff of that goodness. Now that it's in your tongue and palate, try to really taste it. Know the feel it leaves your mouth. Does it leave your mouth creamy like milk does? Does it make it rather oily? Both? Or like water with style. Does it leave your mouth dry? Coated, perhaps? Or just moist, maybe. Then you get the aftertaste for you to appreciate it and be satisfied with. In the end, you will get the much energy and positive effect that it has for you.
With tea, you have the advantage. Make use of Mother Nature's blessing and do yourself a favor.
